The Rialto 900 is a fast roll-to-sheet duplex colour inkjet press with a compact, small footprint, producing A4 documents on plain paper.
It runs at 320 A4 ppm in narrow web format (up to 220mm) with a looping paper path makes it more compact than some toner presses, with a price that undercuts other presses, but wider roll-fed duplex inkjet presses.
Xerox, says it provides the market with 'a lower entry point into high-speed inkjet printing, acting as a bridge between the world of continuous-feed inkjet and cut-sheet digital printing.'
Designed for A4 printed output, although it can print longer or shorter sheets, typical printing applications:- transactional, marketing materials, direct mail and a certain extent books and catalogues.
The Xerox Rialto 900 is termed a tight-web CMYK (Xerox High Definition water-based ink) inkjet printer. Printheads are by Kyocera KJ4B greyscale piezo drop-on-demand inkjet in a 220mm wide single-pass configuration, and benefits from missing jet detectors. With a stated resolution of 600dpi but claimed to resemble 1,000dpi. Automatic head-cleaning and duplex registration.
